Accessibility
Target is WCAG 2.2 Level AA. Here is where we actually are, including the parts that fall short.
What we do
- Every text and background pair is contrast-tested against the 4.5:1 threshold by an automated test that fails the build, not a manual check somebody remembers to run.
- All functionality is reachable by keyboard, with a visible focus ring and a skip-to-content link as the first tab stop on every page.
- Every animation has a
prefers-reduced-motionalternative, and content is visible before any reveal animation runs — so it reads with JavaScript disabled. - Images carry descriptive alt text. Disclosure widgets use native
<details>, so they work with no JavaScript and are found by in-page search. - Forms use real labels and autocomplete attributes.
- Specification tables reflow into labeled rows on narrow screens. The markup stays a real table with scoped headers at every width, so it is still announced as tabular data rather than a list of numbers.
How we test
Every page is audited with axe-core against WCAG 2.2 A and AA plus best-practice rules, at 375px and at desktop width, including expanded states — mobile menu open, disclosures expanded. The current result across the site is zero violations, and horizontal overflow is zero at 375px.
Where we fall short
- No screen-reader audit with a human tester has been completed. Automated tools catch roughly a third of real barriers and we are not going to imply otherwise. This is scheduled, and we will update this page with what it finds — including the parts that make us look bad.
- The wholesale portal is still in build and has not been audited at all.
